Vehicle Description

Here's a 2011 Forester 2.5x Special Edition with 149k in Sage Green Metallic. We replaced the engine: under the hood now is a 2015 engine with just 62k. We also replaced both front brake rotors, both rear brake calipers, and brake pads all around. Also replaced the front ball joints and an O2 sensor. Then we gave it a 300+ mile test to make sure everything checks out, and it does.

The engine in this vehicle is an FB 2.5L dual overhead cam with a timing chain (instead of a timing belt), meant to be a lifetime component.

Set of 4 Bridgestone Turanza EL-440 All-Season tires on 16" alloy rims are not far from new, with 8/32" tread depth. (New tires have 9 to 10/32".)

AWD. Automatic transmission with sport shift. Roof rails. Aux plug in center console for audio input. Three 12V power outlets: dashboard, center console, and rear cargo area.

Cargo volume with the rear seats up is 33.5 cubic feet. With the rear seats folded, it's 68.3 cf.

Of all Subaru models, the Forester has the highest driver's seat height: the 2011 sits about 25" off the ground (to the middle of the seat). Ground clearance of the vehicle is 8.7", which helps for navigating in snow.

For stability and safety, Subaru's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system monitors the direction of the car compared to the intended steering direction. It compensates by braking individual wheels and/or altering fuel flow to the engine. Also, the Traction Control System (TCS) senses if any wheels are skidding and redirects power only to those wheels having the best traction. This is what is meant by the word "symmetrical" in Subaru's "Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive."

Imperfections (see photos): rust in driver's doorjamb; TPMS light is on even though all tires are inflated to recommended pressure.

But of course it has Subaru's signature All-Wheel Drive transmission!
