Northeast Iowa’s Used Subaru Dealership!
This 2009 Forester 2.5XT Limited with 131k is the TURBO version of an All-Wheel-Drive classic.
We rebuilt the engine. Our rebuild consisted of reboring the cylinders, new pistons and rings, new main bearings and rod bearings, new rear main seal, new head gaskets and valve cover gaskets, new oil pan gasket, water pump gasket, and spark plugs. Resurfaced the heads before putting everything back together. We also gave it a new rack & pinion, new front brake rotors, new brake pads all around, and a new windshield. Repaired the A/C.
Gave it a 300+ mile test to make sure everything checks out, and it passed the test.
Set of 4 17" Advanta ER-700 All-Season tires on alloy rims are close to new, with 8 to 9/32" of tread depth remaining (out of 10").
Automatic transmission with sport shift.
This Limited trim level means you get nice amenities: leather upholstery, heated seats, automatic climate control, 10-way power driver seat with power lumbar support, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, fog lights, heated exterior mirrors, front wiper de-icers, a sliding sunroof with generous dimensions, reclining rear seatbacks, and a rear seat retractable beverage tray in addition to the armrest.
Touchscreen stereo screen with Bluetooth. 6 speakers for quality audio.
Three 12V power outlets: in dashboard, in center console, and in rear cargo area.
Hitch receiver (1 1/4") with trailer light plug. Lugguage rack with crossbars.
Cargo volume with the rear seats up is 30.8 cubic feet. With the rear seats folded, it's 63.0 cf.
Of all Subaru models, the Forester has the highest driver's seat height: the 2009 sits about 25" off the ground (to the middle of the seat). Ground clearance of the vehicle is 8.7", which helps for navigating in snow.
For stability and safety, Subaru's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system monitors the direction of the car compared to the intended steering direction. It compensates by braking individual wheels and/or altering fuel flow to the engine. Also, the Traction Control System (TCS) senses if any wheels are skidding and redirects power only to those wheels having the best traction. This is what is meant by the word "symmetrical" in Subaru's "Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive."
The Incline Start Assist feature detects when you're at an uphill stop. It holds the brake pressure for a bit of time while you switch to the gas pedal. Once you accelerate, it releases the brake.
Imperfections: Key fob works for unlock only. TPMS light is on even though all tires are inflated to recommended pressure.
But of course it has Subaru's signature All-Wheel Drive transmission!
